Can you program your own recorded drums sounds into the ES-1 and make a beat? Like? if I record the sounds from my drumkit as a wav file, can I import them into the ES-1 and make beats that way? yeah, I love this board. had it a few years now and it always seems to find it's? way into the mix. if a resonant filter is important to you I recommend the KORG Legacy Wavestation software as it has the res filter and a better user interface. It is probably more reliable than the actual board but it's a case of whether you want hardware or not. btw there's more wavestation videos on my channel if you haven't already seen them. :) thanks for the comment. :)

thanks for your question well this is a matter of personal opinion to be honest with you. I personally love the strings, very rich and warm compared to many other keyboards around the time of this keyboard. the piano isn't brilliant. However with a touch of the built in reverb and some slight tweaking it can? sound more alive. Hope this answers your question and anything else just give me a shout :) George

Well this keyboard has some great ambient pads and sounds already there for the user however in order? to get the best out of this instrument you have to be willing to sit down for a while and have a good mess around with the editing side of things. Despite this, if pads is what you're looking for then this board should be fine. Alternatives would be the Roland JD800, Yamaha DX7 and the Roland D50. This is one of my favourite boards as it's so diverse. Thanks for the comment :)

I'm not a keyboard player but I'm able to play on a? basic level. I'm big into ambient techno from the early 1990's and want to incorporate the ambient pads used in that era into my own particular flavour of music. Is it worth buying one of these? They seem to have character to them as well. Personality. I feel like owning one would be different than using an emulator. What do you think?

apologies for the slow reply. the? opening chord sequence is: Cmaj7, Dadd9, E repeated respectively then hold the E then the bass comes in with the chords D, E. The verse is: Em9, Am7 repeated until the chorus. The chorus goes: Bm7, Am7 repeated respectively. The second verse is the same as the first and the trumpet section is the same sequence as the verses. Then it repeats the opening sequence while fading out. it's like a sort of clock or "treadmill" if you will. On the screen theres a strip where dots on the screen can? be placed and each dot represents a note played by the keyboard. When you input all of these dots or notes you can play it back and continue looping it over and over. This helps when playing a fast riff such as On The Run :) Sorry if i've not explained very well lol but I hope this helps :)

thanks, I used the internal sequencer to trigger each of the notes then I turned the editing knobs to adjust the sound while it? was playing :)

you should go for it man, listening to it I think it's a great synth? to be honest. Also looks good for RnB and Hip Hop so I can imagine it'll suit your sorta style quite good. :)

Franz Ferdinand - Ulysses Cover

Bit sketchy but was done very late on at night. Tried to replicate all of the sounds used except for the guitar since putting a keyboard guitar in probably would of spoiled it. Hope you enjoy listening to it. Also there's no vocals since my voice most likely would of made it sound nasty. A different version of one of my songs "Hate The Feeling", if anyone's wondering, yes it is me playing a little on the guitar but obviously it's very basic. By the way if any singers would like to write lyrics to this and record a full version with them singing then let me know and I'll get back to you.
