Carries still relevant imo. Perhaps she isnt as international cuz of? her style of music. Either way, who cares, PP even said so himself that even if he stays famous or not he will continue to make music cuz that's his passion. That just shows how real he is. Not everybody needs fame, just a handful of supporters is enough for him. I wasnt really a fan of the past winners but I am of him. Considering that she is able to sing it in a studio as many times as she likes, have her voice edited, lip? sync while "performing" it...well it should be with more "spark." But to me, she wasn't amazing. She hardly had any dynamics, it sounded like she didn't support her voice as she sang, and she didn't have spunk. Anita is supposed to have that spunk and insane charm to her...I didn't feel it from her. Olivo is singing live, no auto-tune, and she's dancing like wild...that's some "spark" ya!

Actually, this is the original stage version of the song. The movie changed it and took out Rosalia (the girl in favor of Puerto Rico). The movie also changed the lyrics to change it. In the original version of "America," the audience gets persuaded that life is better in America, whereas the movie is otherwise and brings up racism in America. All in all, this is the version that was in the first West Side Story. Movies like? the change things.

Public schools here in New York State, not in NYC, are starting to collapse. Sad that students are getting caught in this but eventually they will be world class. I live in a VERY rural school district that is on the verge of going bankrupt. But they have amped up education SO MUCH that? it would look silly to close a school that has such great learning. And the kids are LOVING it!! Sure hope all U.S. kids can turn this corner.

Students are tested, graded & awarded certification after testing. Dependent on the results they are deemed qualified to continue to higher education or not. Why should teachers be exempt from such testing? Roughly 2.3 million public school teachers in the U.S. have tenure, effectively a job for life unless you screw up big time. Where is the incentive to perform if? you can't be fired? Tenure and job security should be removed nationally from the teaching profession in the US.

We have? a couple of Waldorf private schools in Germany that have a bad reputation when it comes to everything with exception of bringing forth artists. The good schools are all public and only the learning mentality and intelligence of the pupils decides over which school is the right one for you. You don't seem to have a clue about the Germany school system. We have four different "high school" systems alone with different grades of educational niveau that compete for parents and students.

The reason Finnish schools are better than the US does not solely?? rest upon teachers, that's a very? small piece of the puzzle. What about the challenging curriculum, the lack of bureaucracy, the absence of standardized testing, what about more school resources, BETTER TEACHERS?? In order for US schools improve, omnipotent organizations like the AFT have to be disbanded. Teacher's unions deserve a lot of the blame for our shameful public educational system.
