Yes I am aware of the politics surrounding MARTA. Due to the change in Demographics I'm sure it could get built in Gwinnett now. However it is not profitable and the cost per miles is staggering compared to highways. Those reasons have never made? me much of fan of rail in newer spread out cities, but in higher population densities, it makes sense.

Well, being from Atlanta, I'm sure you know that is largely due to the governments of Gwinnett and Cobb counties putting the hammer down on MARTA for -- shall we say, not giving certain people easy access. I? lived in North Fulton for 12 years and never experienced the so-called fears they have -- if you get my driff. To the contrary, I always found the north train line (that goes 5-7 miles beyond 285 very convienient -- especially for friends coming in from the airport.

Yes, Americans love their cars. BUT, Atlanta has a very modern (somewhat underutilized) mass transit system -- MARTA -- with high speed subways and buses that will make getting around fairly easy. Just check out? the MARTA website. There is a big station at the airport.

Thanks for the suggestion, you are the first person in 4.5 years to say that the text distracts from the view. I have considered your suggestion before but I'm afraid if I went in that direction people would complain that I'm ruining the music by talking over it. I can't win, lol! Know these videos are older, but nice job. I know you like the view? of the city coming down I-85, but do you have any going South on I-75; that view at the connector kinda makes the city jump out at you as you come around the trees. And northbound on I-75 makes a good view of the Church of the Apostles and of the Cobb Energy Center. Also 285 EB on the Northend captures a good view of Dunwoody skyline. And Paces Ferry bridge over 285 has great view of Atlanta Buchead skyline from a distance.

I live in Atlanta and I LOVE it! There is lots to do here and I LOVE Downtown Atlanta. The weather is nice here,too! Not to mention how Diverse it is down here. We have lots of different skin colored people down here. There is even some parts in Georgia where you can find a WHOOOLEEE section of just? nothing but Vietnamese and Mexican food spots. It's lovely here and I ADORE where I'm from! :D

Thank you for this beautiful video. It made me cry. I grew up in Atlanta near all of these locations, many of them very personal. We lived on Peachtree? Rd, less than a mile from Buckhead. I loved my city, but she's disappearing, turning into concrete, steel & glass, no different from any other city. I miss her many beautiful, unique, & individual buildings, built with such pride & craftsmanship. She's turned her back on her own history, for the all mighty dollar. It breaks my heart!

This is a wonderfull video. I sat here with? tears in my eyes. I too was born at Crawford W. Long hospital (1941) My great uncle delivered me along with most of my cousins.. The ride on the trolly was long,especially on the return trip. You were so tired from walking and shopping. Back then the men had to stand so us ladies could sit. What a wonderful era. I could go on and on but won't I just want to thank you for your work. I plan to watch the other videos you have.

My Father took us as a family to see the crackers play at? the Field on Ponce De Leon across from Sears. My son Jim was born at Georgia Baptist and our doctor was Crawford W Long the grandson of CWL. I had forgotten the Cocoa Cola sign until I saw it. I also remember taking a bus downtown and shoppin at Rich's and then walking down to Davidson's (Macy's) and then walking back to catch the bus home to West End. Thanks for sharing

It does snow here. You can see videos of it snowing in Atlanta here on youtube. Right now it is insanely hot. Summers down here are hot and humid. Winters are cold( obviously). It is hard to describe fall and spring. During fall and spring, it can be warm or cold. Our weather is? bipolar. It can be cold in the morning, hot in the afternoon and freezing at night. I wouldn't want to live in Beverly Hills,California. I would probably choose Palm Beach because I love the beach. Haha.

Some people consider it the "beverly hills" because that is where a lot of rich people live and it is considered the wealthiest neighborhood in Atlanta. I looked it up online and the average price of a home there is $700,000-750,000. Which is a lot considering that most homes in Atlanta don't cost that much.

Basically, it is a 4-lane divided highway that will connect Chastain Rd with Bells Ferry Rd, creating an alternate east-west route to relieve Chastain Rd and Barrett Pkwy. There won't be any interstate exits where it crosses I-75.? The construction you see in the video is a temporary realignment of I-75 to construct the bridges where Big Shanty goes under. I work for the engineering company that designed it. ;)

I feel like I'm one of few people who actually likes the Clearview font. I've noticed? comments over the past couple videos with the BGSs, not to mention a bunch of other places online, where people really resent replacing of Highway Gothic. Maybe my different opinion's just cos I don't travel often and I'm relatively fresh on the roadgeekery. I love this video. The wrestling company is saying that they believe u have the talent to be the main wrestler for their organization. Every wrestlers goal is to get to that spot and so many never make it.
