are you fking kidding me?! that breakdown is one of the best breakdowns ever! the moment that bass kicks in it's pure bliss, you're up in the sky. And then they add the sexy, almost cruel, lyrics "shut your mouth" until it burst down into busting that chord and then the spacey outro. This is an incredible piece of work, but it's more of a recreation-of-a-museum recreation than a recreation-from-real-life. Even the linoleum mimics the glazed brown brick floors seen in indoor "heritage town" exhibits in museums, particularly during the 70s and 80's, which probably corresponds to when he actually saw them. This alone makes the? work all the more fascinating - he hasn't recreated the past, he's recreated a RECREATION of the past. There's something meta in all of this . . .

You are right, just cannot agree on that one. You shouldn't be disappointed by melodic reinterpretation, especially by the songwriter themselves...all songs get boring if after years have gone by, the song hasn't evolved at all. Melodies are organic and must also grow. Mr. Bird altering the melody doesn't mean he's singing a different song. In Jazz, melodic reinterpretation is the norm, to show your own distinctive self beyond a restrictive melody. Check out? Billie Holiday & Ella Fitzgerald.

I recognize Andrew's every right to do anything he wants with his song...however, I'm always disappointed when an artist change up the melody to the point where it's not event the same song. It honestly seems like he'd sang the song so many times that he was bored singing the right notes. It's like if I sang "Hey Jude" to the tune of "I Believe I Can Fly". I'm sure no one here will agree with this? but I'm throwin it out there.

But there are large swathes of society that have their? own beauty ideals that are not influenced by the mainstream media. I understand about bucking the trend. I keep my hair short and don't wear make-up, this occasionally leads me to feel negatively judged but the trick is to not care about the thoughts of others.
