Homebirth isn't for everyone - I have a friend who gave birth and had severe bleeding that required a transfusion and would have died had she not had the immediate emergency care at a hospital. The woman in the video and her husband are great examples of successful homebirths... but that said hospitals are NOT the evil institutions many people? make them out to be.

You have to remember, though, some people cannot? afford such expensive trips to the hospital. From personal experience, they charge you for everything including outragous prices such as $25 for a simple bandage or tylenol. Also, there are those people who are just plain uncomfortable with hospitals, even to go so far as to fear them. All that anxiety and stress only makes it harder on mother and baby to deliver.

It's actually very normal. Only in movies the babies cry immediately. Even in hospital environments babies take a little while to cry, and here the baby isn't being examined by a pediatrician, so she feels no need to "complain"? and therefore only cries when she starts to feel the pain of breathing for the first few times.
