I agree with her I went to an HBCU and all I did was hang around fake people trying to be activists one day and a party/club freak the next day! HBCU's don't foster a diverse learning environment and international students are hugely suppressed and virtually nowhere to be found! they have a lack of resources, lack of scholarships, and? a lack of study abroad programs. your virtually on your own! but the upside is the teachers were laid back, and cut you some slack on assignments.

Most people I notice that go to HBCU's did bad in high school and don't want to go to a? community college and they get into HBCU's cause they are easy to get into.

I totally agree with her. I'm black and personally HATED the HBCU that I attended. The students there seemed to be more focused on fashion than actually pursing their education. The faculty was extremely RUDE, unhelpful, and talked to? us as if we were lost children. Sorry but I'm treated way better at my current school...which happens to be predominately white.

I know exactly what this girl is going through. I'm going through the same thing at the college that I'm at now which is 95% black. I've been in racially mixed schools all of my life until I transferred to a black college last fall after I got my associate's degree.? I'm black but it is still a culture shock for me. I may not fit in with a huge majority of the students but I'm gonna try to hold on as long as I can.

I don't blame you! Black people are not the friendliest people. I'm black and I transferred from a ghetto community college which 60% of the student body is black. That was an issue for me because like the the lady said, the students there are not approachable, very superficial and it was way too much like high? school. I was going to get my associate's from this school however, my second semester, I would be pissed off for no reason I decided to transfer to a BIG TEN SCHOOL! I I am happy now.

Why do you think that white people are allowed free tuition in historically black colleges? It may be true some times i9n some places but it is certainly not generally true. Several of the (white) younguns in my family went to such (because nearby for easy commute, also being fairly integrated already race was not? a big deal to them) and they had to borrow at exhorbitant rates just like everybody else does.
