i think you're making a mistake here. santana probably will beat King in terms of sped, but if you listen to santana live you'll notice he fucks up quite a lot of his own stuff. therefore i believe santana won't be able to? beat BB King in preciscion. the way BB King plays his solo's is always spot on, even though he plays on a different rhythm than his band. so i'd say santana and BB King are at most evenly matched :)

When Dire Straits was at the? top of their game, and on a world tour in the 80's and were slated to play the concert for Nelson Mandela, Clapton wanted to perform with Knopfler and Dire Straits. Clapton may have many qualities but charisma is? not on his book lol. He's rich, famous and will be remembered forever as one of the best guitarists that ever lived because of what he's done to music. If people do believe it is that easy to play like him, get a guitar and upload on youtube, I am sure they will be very successful as well. Exactly as Marshall said, but if you want a start, try playing minor over all the chords and adding some major on the root chord (A). Since this switching would be really tiring (and break the feeling of the thing), just try adding some major notes over the minor scale? on the A.

One is to use the Minor 7/11 pentatonic scale also the major 6/9 pentatonic.You can alternate back and forth.You can can play 7th arpeggio's and extensions (9,11,13) and use different voicings of the chords for riffs and chord solo's. There are double stops thirds and 6ths (4th and 5ths) .You can add chromatic tones to the arpegio's or pentatonic scales. Just going to show you trailers do nothing. It was word of mouth that sold this picture. I remember because I went to see it when it came out! Nobody gave a flip about the trailer - we all learned about it from people running up crazy-eyed breathing fast and grinning, asking, "OMG? did you see The Blues Brothers yet?"
