Why is he a joke? He got out of equities in 2000, and started a commodity index (when? the major banks were closing their commodity desks)... that's pretty impressive. He simplifies things more than say Jeremy Grantham or Kyle Bass, but a joke?

"printing money" refers to the central bank financing the deficit of the federal government on a permanent basis by issuing currency. This situation does not exist in the United States. Global demand for Treasury securities is strong, and the Treasury has been able to finance large deficits without difficulty.
