The HHS contraception mandate is a clear violation of Christian's religious freedom. Those that are opposed to it are not saying that women can't have? contraception. They are saying that they should not be mandated to support it in any way, financially or otherwise. Contraception is not a medical necessity. My Catholic mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and her doctor had her on them to work along side her chemo. The problem with that is that the the very reason the 289 people exonerated by the Innocence Project were incarcerated to start with was because the legal system, at the time, had "100% certitude of guilt; forensic evidence, reliable eye witnesses, etc.", to include those saved from death row. As for statistics, The Innocence Project, a non-profit organization which handling legal appeals of convicted inmates, has exonerated some 289 people since 1989, including 17 death row inmates. Basically, because birth control is a hell of a lot cheaper than actual covering prenatal and postnatal care for? babies born, it is beneficial to lower the birth rate, which birth control does. They reduce costs as much as possible and divide up profits? at the end of the year, while collecting hefty salaries of their own. The cost of living is going up so wages should too.
