York City (Long Island) bands in 1966, the Vagrants, Vanilla Fudge, Rascals, Rich Kids, Illusion and it changed my life. Make sure you do full vacuums (both exhale all the air and contract your abs additionally) and also the reason why it's easier than second and third is because you are just starting the workout, your body didn't spend any additional energy on the exercise before that, because there weren't any. Also in first exercise your standing tall which is the normal non-stressed pose of your body while in 2nd and 3rd your abs work additionally to hold the plank? and crucifix pose. Good luck

The idea of no pain no gain is actually incorrect. You shouldn't actually be too sore the? next day after a good work out. Pain is common in sedentary individuals until their muscles adapt, but overall after a couple of weeks, if you feel pain you are doing to much. Your muscles need time to heal properly and build otherwise, they will gradually fail and injury can occur.

These are wise and effective exercises. They must be done correctly. The first exercise may strain the neck if? done incorrectly - do as illustrated, lifting the head and shoulders as a unit rather than using the head as a ballistic method to move the body (bad idea and not as shown). After doing these exercises every second day for four weeks my back and abs feel stronger and in balance and my back discomfort is much less. Dr. McGill simply is a world-class expert.

i am recovering from a slipped lumbar disc and i am very nervous about moving my back....most of the stretches here i can gently manage and i am finding it very beneficial in just getting confident in moving and loosing that fear of it going again.....try it!!! but really gently and timidly !!!its working for me...the? irony .....even tho i was a very fit strong guy :if i had done stretches like this before my back went it would of probably saved the disc from degenerating in the first place!!!

In a sense you're correct - I forgot to include 'for the abs'. So, if 2 minutes of pushups is easier than 2 minutes of plank for your abs, disregarding all other muscles, you're very likely to be sagging (easing the strain on your abs). Standing in a pushup position without doing pushups should be easier than the plank position,? for some physical reason I can't think of right now, and if one finds the plank position easier then one is missing something important somewhere. Agreed?

planks seem harder because they are isometric anaerobic exercise which quickly exhaust cp-atp energy stores. push ups with good form work all energy systems of the core? (TrA, InfOb, Mult, SemiSp, and Rot), and accessory mm which facilitate the core (diaphragm, pelvic floor, non core abs). So basically, if 2 minutes of plank is easier than two mins of pushups, your pushup form is shit.

boring...The plank & 6 inches are ok but pretty old. Crunches & sit-ups are so bad for your erector spinae. Try moving your body in different directions during the plank exercise. People must incorporate? a variety of different exercises in their daily routine. Check out bodyrock.tv for some awesome exercises that will increase your strength, power, & agility. Thanks I think I need to start focusing more on core strength. I use tension ropes for the main shoulder workouts (sideways, forwards, "hands up" etc), static ab training and this shit called "hip-hop abs", which works really well, and a hell of a lot of pressups, but I heard recently that without paying attention to core strength you can injure yourself a lot easier doing standard strength? work before core training. Already got a fucked up shoulder from years back, n thats enough for me haha
