Err, WRONG. Now dontget me wrong, I genuinely? like & admire the Diamonds, a great sounding group. HOWEVER they were largely a cover band who by virtue of their appearance... made the bigtime unlike some of their contemporaries who looked a bit different shall we say. This GREAT version(genuinely) is their "comic" parody of the original by The Gladiolas, Maurice Williams' group. I was so disappointed to discover that they only really liked stuff like Johnny Mathis. Actually, using stone tools when you first start off isn't that bad because there's such an excess of cobble stone. As you continue down, Iron will become less and less of a luxury and you can make all Iron tools but for the beginning, it's? fine. Especially when there's an excess amount of dirt/gravel that you can just make a stone shovel to get rid of; no point in wasting precious jewels on a shovel.

"Diamonds" is arguably the greatest of the lot when choosing something from the instrumental era. It's certainly up there with Apache (Shadows) which Jet was on. "Telstar" by the Tornadoes was also from the same era & "Because They're Young" by twang master? Duane Eddy. Jet plays with such great tone here and Tony Meehan's drum break reminds me in its superb delivery of the fabulous Gene Krupa. Obviously an influence on Meehan - I've often thought.
