if the 1/200 or somewhere around there is the speed where the curtains/shutters have enough time to fully open before the other one starts closing whats the point of having higher shutter speed?? this might be a dumb question but if anyone knows anything let me know. I am gonna take a? look at this shutter speed thing over again because i think i have taken pictures at speed higher outdoors, i m not sure i will check again with the cam. does anyone have any info/input? thanks

Hi Mark, Thanks for video. I did what you did except used off camera speedlite flash SB900 but either the subject was too dark when the background was dark or if the subject was well lit, then the background was not pitch black, I believe the light behind the subject was cause by the flash, so I could not get that affect. I tried all types of Apertures/Shutter speeds and ISO and I have? D90, is the shot possible? If so what am I doing wrong? Thanks John

When first handling A DSLR begin in the green mode. The full auto, once you feel that you get the camera better. The buttons and the feel you can switch to P[rogram] mode or modes like A[perture] these give you? more control. And yes will do most functions like measuring the light automatically for you. Gotta love the sensors these days. There? was a time where ISO 800 was ..touching it.But now you can push your camera into the over 12800 and ..still get some decent results. Do you know how long exposure noise works on digital sensors? It is one of those situations where you gotta choose between two bads.Either accept long exposure noise or raise the ISO to get noise from there.

If the sensor is built well, then? because the pixel is getting more light, the amount of light compared to background noise is much better and you won't get as much noise when you scale up.

Well, "theoretically" is the key word there. In reality you'll never achieve a perfectly noise-free environment. The sensor itself is even adding to the? noise. However, as mentioned, as they get better and better technology, this becomes less and less of an issue. For a specific example, search for "EOS 5D Mark III ISO 12800 MOVIE" on YouTube to see the noise difference between the Canon 5D Mark II and the Mark III at the same ISO. It's an impressive improvement.

Well I? believe Johnny Marr on video as to what he thinks the best songs and bands out of Manchester. He also mentions and comments on Joy Division. Maybe he said that in '87 on "the telly," but here he is very recently expressing his mature sentiments. His appreciation of influence and music has, like most people's, probably matured. I'm not offended. Please watch Marr and let him speak for himself. Thanks for your input on great Manchester bands, though. Buzzcocks on every top punk list UK & US

Marr said it on telly, on the 'South Bank? Show' (in so far as me remembers it). The very word 'Manc-land band' means fuck-all. Most came from Bolton, or Stockport, or else Bury. Smiths and Oasis and Happy Mondays as well as Fall were the only TRULY Manc bands that made it big. Smiths plopped all over Buzzcocks and Magazine. Were Cockney Rejcts Punk Rock or Oi! Do tell, o scholarly one.

Well I have never hear him say that, nor read that, but HERE is Johnny Marr saying that he thought the best songs to have come out of Manchester were punk songs: "What Do I Get" by the Buzzcocks, "Autonomy" by the? Buzzcocks, and "Shot by Both Sides" by Magazine, all punk bands. Listen to the songs to hear A LOT of Johnny Marr influence, so here he is live giving kudos to punk bands from 4:28 seconds on but at 4:55 he starts naming punk bands. New? Order had non-lyrics after they lost their lyricist (I.C.)... The Smiths were the best band of that era... Just listen to this tune... what other new wave bands used ridiculous amounts of wah-wah??? After that, Love & Rockets had potential to go somewhere, but Janes, Nirvana & STP outshown their "Ball of Confusion" style... I actually saw Janes open for L & Rckts in NYC in 87... Cure kept getting "happier" after Head on the Door... They outlasted all the others save, USA's best band, R.E.M.

Joy Division is comparable - Ian Curtis was a lyrical genius - as is (was?) Morrissey. Bernard Sumner of New Order (one of my favourite bands) is a bit of a shit lyricist to be honest. The Cure and The Clash... well they speak for themselves. Morrissey and Marr together were a simply outstanding combination? - and that partnership produced, in my opinion, the best band of the 80s. "A troll indeed you are," as Yoda would say..

By the way, "God Save the Queen" by the S-P's fits in perfectly after the verses over the E G A Abm G chords and since the E G A Abm G riff is repeated twice, you may as well do the second line, "The fascist regime" even though the Monarchy is not at all fascist... They were influenced by it... It was only 9 years earlier? and reached # 2 on the charts... Every young punkish aspirant had heard, and sung (lol) it, well...

It's interesting Morrissey BEGINS his 2007 greatest hits tour with this song... 21 years later, he is still a punk at heart... I TOTALLY sympathize with his expression of belligerence... If anyone is interested enough to watch the writer of the lyrics, notice, too, how much fun the yourng punk band? members have JAMMING OUT to this awesome Marr composition...
