People have? no respect. I am in the last part of my senior year in high school and at night I attend fire academy. No senior trip for me, or band trip, or even project graduation. When I show up at school with my uniform on I get made fun of while I try and get in as much food as I can cuz I wont have supper. I get home at 1 a.m. and get up at 5 for school and do it all again. BUT im glad I do it. There is no other thing I could ever see myself doing. I love it.

Just because fire is blowing out of the roof in an area or fire is coming out of your? vent hole, it doesn't necessarily mean your fire is vented completely or vented well. Depends on many many more factors as to whether or not the fire is vented. So your comment could have just been Study Ventilation. Ventilation can make or break a fire attack and save fellow members from taking a beating. I can promise you that.

good video. however,? there are a lot of people featured that have poor situational awareness. lack of PPE, collapse zone, poor line selection just to name a few. Here's a tip to all you juniors with hard-ons for this stuff. study ventilation. I can promise you that if you have fire blowing through the roof you are standing on, ventilation is occuring. GET OFF THE ROOF. I can speak from experience. Thank you and have a good day! Stay Safe!

you said the words during? the parade. that exactly it, the fire was before the parade!!!! As far as what they saved, there were other cars around and CRP and fields there. IF the fire would have made to the ditch it probably would have been quite a mess!! Dry as hell that day and windy. this little town is surrounded by the crp and fields, so waiting for a fire dept to show up would have been prob bout 15 min, what could have happend.

They were there to promote a upcoming fundraiser to raise money for the voluteer fire dept.! I am proud to call them my neighbors, friends and community protectors!!! Good for them! Given they were out of service coming back from a parade/fundraiser, they did what they had to do. Sure they didn't have ppa on, but they all willingly took a calculated approach to handling a fire. How would the public feel seeing an Engine drive right past a fire, then there would have been the? news story of 'why didn't they stop'..they did what they had to in drag, bet their next fundraiser will be great for them!

I know they don't store turnouts on the truck. But whenever I leave the station on the truck to go somewhere other than a call my turnout bag is on the truck with me. It they had a structure fire what would they do? Get there and say, "Yea, thats a fire. I hope some people with some equipment get here soon." As as for a dressing room, or lack thereof, that is the beauty of turnouts. You take off your shoes, step into the boots, and? put on the pants and coat over what you're wearing.

im sure if it was your truck on fire or near the vehicle burning you wouldnt be so fast to call VOLUNTEER firemen from another town "jack offs" for putting out a fire. These guys were going to be in a parade in hopes to draw ppl to donate to their department. And as far as the drinking beer? comment goes: these guys are volunteers. they dont get a call and rush to the station to drink beer 1st nor do they sit and wait cuz they have other jobs. small towns like these care about their neighbors.

I am from another small town near where this happened and my step dad was on the volunteer? fire department so I am fairly sure my answer is correct here: they don't store their turnouts on the truck! They have lockers at the fire hall where they can get dressed quickly and have room to do so and everyone can get their own gear easily and then they take off. Time from out the front door to the back of the truck was less than 3 minutes, an awesome time. I would have concentrated on an airway myself, then got? a line. We use Internationals so we have a lot more room in the back than those van bodies do, so it's easier to do work on the way. After I had an airway and a IV line, everything else is easy. If I had to work in that little truck I'd do those 2 things before getting in. Other than the mouth to mouth, I can't say anything really bad.

Ive been an EMT/Firefighter for 6 years in SoCal and I know under pressure Im not that quick and efficient but YOU guys? KILLED IT!! Well, I actually looked up all of these verses, even though it took a while. As I suspected, these are all pertaining to PUNISHMENTS for breaking the holy laws. This is not murder. There shouldn't be a pay gap between the genders, there should be a? pay gap between those who do the job better than others. by saying women should be payed less, you are doing the women that are doing the job better than a man a serious injustice, if a female officer is doing better than a male officer, you would still be paying the male more just for his gender. No but it just means that you and the? 5 men shouldn't be firefighters if there are 5 other guys like the ones that are already above you. What happens when you get to a door you can't knock down or there's a wooden beam too heavy for you to lift? This job is one where seconds matter and no one should have to risk their life finding out that there was a guy out there who could have lifted it (but got passed up because of quotas) when you and those 5 guys couldn't.

Yeah, and if 100% of the women that try for a job can't meet the standards, then the standards should not be lowered. Any job that requires max strength (ie? the ability to carry an extremely heavy weight) will always have a man that is stronger. It's just genetics. Everyone is poor where I live, we cannot afford to pay firefighters so we only have a volunteer fire department. None of the volunteers had to get a college education to do work they don't get paid for. My point is anyone can help out. I'm not saying anyone can just walk up? and do what professional firefighters can do, but with a short amount of training most people can do what volunteer firefighters do.

NOT firefighters, more than likely they are youth/explorers, in my state(Wisconsin, the same place this "prisoners used as firefighters" is happening, the basic training for firefighter 1 lasted just over 6 months, and then, to get hired as a firefighter, i had to go to college, i currently hold a bachelors degree in the fire protection technician program...and another year for paramedic

If everybody only paid the 75$ fee when their house was on fire, how would you pay the firefighters and? the equipment they use? We think its okay because unlike you we value this thing called PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. You're not a kid anymore, its time to make big boy decisions and those include prioritizing your basic needs such as food, shelter, health care. How is paying higher taxes any different than getting insurance hmmm? You're still paying a little so that in the event of you getting sick or injured? you are covered, insurance is just a personal choice and sadly there are too many morons that don't get it.

False, $75 isn't even half of what is garnished? from your wages even if you were on minimum wage. Yeah the fire department is funded for by taxes, the same taxes she choose to opt out on and like I said she paid the price for it. This is why in other states they don't give you the option to opt out because they know there will be idiots like her who eventually pay for their mistake and blame the government for their own decisions.

In reguards to what I just said. My partner and I were about 3 feet away from where a explosion and collapse happened, the reason I said I think these guys were watching over us is because we were right near where the explosion happened with a handline at first. I turned? around and walked away because I heard someone call my name and to back away. No firefighter was around that knew me by my name except for my partner.. and he didnt hear anyone at all. Rest easy brothers! Im a firefighter in central PA, we had a large warehouse fire in carlisle, PA just a few weeks ago, i dont know if anyone on here heard about it.. but it went 4+ alarms. I dont want to compare these fires, but when I was listening to the call before? our company got dispatched all I could think about is this fire in Philadelphia. Almost everything was the same. But I honesly think those 2 men were watching over us that crazy morning. If you were brothers, THANKYOU!!
