It seems you are unaware, so i shall explain it to you. The pianist pauses and holds out the note at 3:20 to add a bit of flavor to the piece. In the music it is written as a dotted half note with a fermata meaning the player should hold the note for however? long they want. This player decided to hold it for 5 seconds. This explains the 5 second space in which the chord is ringing between 3:20-3:25

This is NOT a "copy and paste" job as described by "JayRocFly" below. Listen to "What We Talkin' About" properly. Kanye (and No I.D, who co-produced the song) added a deeper (and different) bassline, they layered the drums some more and also (most importantly) added a guitar riff which sits at the end of each loop and which also leads into the hook. Also, the hook itself isn't sampled from anywhere, it's all played from scratch. But yeah, this is a great song and I? respect Kanye for sampling it.

A long time agoI I listened to 'for the love of god' by steve vai, and I thought it was really cool how he brought back the main theme at a later point but made it a lot more ...zesty, for lack of a better term. It hit me that this is exactly what chopin does and? it blows my mind every time. goddamn I love this shit.
