I only found out about this version through a friend who had not heard the original. He loved the lyrics, but not the melody or imagery. Although this was done in 2008, I remember exactly where I was when David sang this. I had just came home from the hospital, my grandfather just passed away from a heart attack. My sister and I were? a mess, and she said "Let's watch some Idol." I told her no, but she turned it on anyway. David was about to sing when the TV came on. The first note came, and I was floored. To this day, it's still one of the most beautiful renditions ever, and I think of my grandfather when I listen to it.

I am so glad to read all of your support for this beautiful young lady. I too followed Rock Star and even went? to the concert after. I felt such a lose when she disappeared. I was so blown away when I came across her doing the audition for The Voice. This is her time now!

Epic Records blew it when they didn't release her as a solo artist album soon after INXS amazing performances (this on of my favorites of all time) and setting record downloads for an unsigned artists.
