The 911 dispatcher? stays stuck on the 'Where' (address), largely ignoring the jumbled attempts at establishing What is going on. She lets urgency be lost in her panic, he loses the urgency in frustration. #1 rule of emergency situations: Remain Calm.

In this video @ 0:26 is an excerpt of the SECOND call. Same call @ 0:38 excerpted. Then @ 0:50 we hear a time condensed part of the first call. What follows that is the social worker not knowing the address of the home. @ 1:11 they edited out her finally giving the address, creating one statement out of two.

Both parties on the 911 call failed. First the social worker fails to know and provide the key "Ws" right away to the dispatcher - What, Where, Who, When. This dispatcher gets into a 'who's who' debate instead of trying to get all of the "Ws". If she couldn't make clear the 'who', he needed to know the? 'where' and 'what' as fast as possible. The social worker falters horribly on the 'where'. The idea of 'when' is about the only thing both seemed to get - it was happening right now.

I can't believe that dispatcher asked what color hair does he have " are you kidding. The social worker said "high profile case" he couldn't say hold on and dispatch the police immediately after he received the address. He sounded so casual I have never heard a dispatcher ask such questions when she clearly told him "josh powell" Gasoline etc. and he just asked what color is his hair. He was playing games with her. It's amazing how anybody who is under indictment for a violent felony cannot be in possession of any dangerous weapon. This is done for a reason, which is? to protect people from violence with that person. The social worker was as stupid as the dispatcher. She took five minutes to find the damn address, which she should have had the brains to know they would need before she even called. She hemmed and hawed and minimized the severity of the situation until AFTER he said it was low priority. She should have said send police now, kids are in danger, here's the address. How did this idiot get a job as a 911 operator when he 1) doesn't know anything about CPS visits and 2)? plain just doesn't know how to listen? Things like "I smelled gasoline" "the children have been in there for 10 minutes" and "I'm afraid for their lives" are just some of the red flags that any normal person would hear and understand the danger of the situation. I understand that when they take a call they need to get all the information for forms but he should have called the deputy first!

The social worker was VERY clear in explaining as to what was going on and the children were in danger as soon as she called.
