I am tired of the unions. They are preventing our country from being able to compete in the global economy. They have prevented the state from giving bonuses to the best performers? and firing the bad performers.

Good god, what is? wrong with you people. I am Canadian and when I was in Grade school in the mid 90s up until high school our federal and provincial gvt cut spending and stripped lots of public unions of their power..Our nation was going broke and we cut back and made due..I had 35 kids in my classes, never saw a computer, we couldn't even get white paper..yet somehow today me and most of my friends are doing very well..This was the Liberals who did it too! Suck it up

This is what happens when you keep cutting taxes and cutting infrastructure. Eventually you cut so much that you are about to go under not because of the unions but because you created a society that doesn't pay for its infrastructure or even properly maintains it. Society needs to function and to do so we need to have everything payed for, Stop cutting and start accepting the responsibilities which means? raising revenue thru taxes and paying for keeping America strong!
By: DarkMagus1985. on 18 Feb 11, 03:56:21
You are so wrong. Its not teachers, nurses, officers, or firefighters who fail its the citizens who don't fund for new schools, firetrucks, better equipment for hospitals and the such. To? say that they fail its to deny the failure of America in the last 30 years. Beginning with the Reagan Era which started this "whole kick the can down the road" mentality. Why get a new school or build new roads or infrastructure just lil mends and dont worry about the cracks in our society!
