Game 4, Kobe kept passing to Gasol and Pau would immediately look to swing it out again. Pau's a good player but he wasn't assertive with the? ball; that's why Kobe called him out - he played soft (as usual). While Kobe dropped 42 on 54.5% shooting, his teammates weren't helpful: 7'0 Bynum was outrebounded by Sessions (and Kobe)! Gasol was 5-14 FG.

Well OKC is a lot quicker and are a lot younger. lakers they have kobe, bynum, artest, and gasol and thats it. Those three are big men and can't move down the court as fast as OKC. The refs suck period, for both sides. The same holds? true for the other series as well. Referee calling has been horrendous in recent years (hmm, maybe since around the Lakers vs Boston final), particularly in the playoffs. It's so incredibly phantom and variable that you can't take it into account when discussing outcomes of series. I'm near the point where I don't even want to watch it anymore until it's rectified.

I stand by my comment. The Lakers had a firm grasp on 3 of those games. They literally gave them away at the end of those games (2, 3, and 4) with bad shot selection and turning the ball over. Had the Lakers closed the aforementioned games (or simply not folded) the series could've easily been 3-1 instead of the other way around. The Thunder only outplayed them in two games. It should? be currently 3-2, Lakers. The Thunder are good, but I can't give them credit. Spurs/OKC will be fun.

Well there's definitely no way Kobe leaves the Lakers. That being said, the Lakers need an overhaul to their current roster. Yes, they're talented and yes that team on paper should be able to contend but it's two years running where they've? proven that they actually can't contend the way they're constructed. kobe's game is different now - he can't penetrate or playmake for teammates anymore so he gets his same numbers with jumpshots almost exclusively now, and because of this he can't elevate teammates anymore. that is why his? 42 pts in game 5 had no effect of elevating teammates. in his old age, kobe has turned into iverson - scores a bunch of points, but can't elevate teammates (because he is too old to be dynamic and playmake, penetrate).

In recent years? he's shown signs of developing his overall game, defending and rebounding and passing with some proficiency. He doesn't do anything consistently yet, however, except produce points. Great series Lakers an OKC , the Lakers championship runs come to a end pretty much. I dont think kobe should retire, if this man wants to win more championships he must play with a new team. Laker fans wont hate on kobe if he does leave? cause kobe done so much for that franchise and winning them 5 nba titles.
