to "thegreatone28540"...if you can make the statement that you just did, then I assure you that it is you who has missed the point...the "tendency of the rate of profit to fall" is? based precisely on what you just said...in other words, profits fall when businesses look for "better ways of doing business"...
By: thegreatone28540. on 21 May 12, 04:45:41
i think this video misses? the point, i think it is the lower profit margin that forces businesses to look for better, faster ways of doing business (new inventions)

You say: "There are no classes, there are? only individuals" Then you say "There are? the strong and there are the weak" You have defeated yourself my friend. Now go and run your business.
By: parrottice1. on 17 May 12, 19:30:37
Go ahead and respond with? as many comments as you want that make now sense. You don't think for yourself. You say things like "Yes, the marginal? utility theory is in fact a pretzel logic" in response to me disproving what you have said. Your responses of child-like. The only reason I've even responded to you after your silly little rebuttals... because I feel sorry for you. Really, you care only about being right at any costs. Truth is not your mission. Clearly.
By: parrottice1. on 17 May 12, 19:28:03
I'm talking to a child. I'm talking to a person who never has and never will in their life run a business. I'm talking to someone who would probably kill himself before he opens his eyes to the truth. I'm talking to someone who will deny his own logic for the sake of agreeing with someone else's. You say all I do is? quote Mises, but with my own words I've actually defeated every single illogical supposition you've put forth. Even your silly marxist theory of value you has been defeated.
By: royalslash. on 17 May 12, 19:27:04
"There are the strong and there are the weak. The strong take the lead? and the weak become the followers." That is called class society.
By: royalslash. on 17 May 12, 19:25:08
Yes, the marginal utility theory is in fact a pretzel? logic.

By: royalslash. on 17 May 12, 19:21:24
You ignore the simple fact, that the price is there BEFORE someone makes is free choice that maximizes his utility. So the price already is? part of the choice! Consequently, the choise cannot determine the price. Thats the end of the marginal utility theory.
By: parrottice1. on 17 May 12, 19:20:48
hahaha. Then you are a poor communicator. You aren't interested in knowing the truth. You are interested in being right at any cost. Royal, the reality of the world is that there are winners and there are losers. There are the strong and there are the weak.? The strong take the lead and the weak become the followers. Rewarding the strong allows them to produce more for society, while those less able to produce are rewarding based on their own merits. You may feel exploited, but some of us disagree
By: royalslash. on 17 May 12, 19:17:29
Because that is not what i? mean. I mean lower price for the same type/quality of commodity, see my last comment.
By: parrottice1. on 17 May 12, 19:13:41
Here goes your pretzel logic again. "Lower prices" is subject to the individual's income, time preference, needs, wants, preference of quality, etc. A "low price" for? a car for someone with a high income may be 50K. For someone making only 50K a year, that would be a "high price" for a car. YOU STILL DON'T "Get it".
By: royalslash. on 17 May 12, 19:10:41
"Lower? prices are preferred by everyone, regardless of whether you are rich or poor." Finally you got it. Thats not so individual at all.
By: royalslash. on 17 May 12, 19:07:33
WHAT AM I IGNORING? "Value is inherent in? all human action and choice." Yes, and this makes the consumers pay as little as possible for any commodity desired. If a competing product appeares on the market that is of the same quality but costs only half of it, EVERYONE? is gonna buy the ceaper one! Thats a fact, you cant ignore that. NO ONE says: "My subjective value is for that commodity is still as high as the old price, so I'm gonna pay twice as much as I have to". Alrhough Mises thinks so...
By: parrottice1. on 17 May 12, 19:04:40
Business puts prices on things. People decided whether or not they are willing to pay the price or not. Some do, some? do not. It depends on the individual's income, time preference, needs, wants, etc. If something is not selling at a certain price, the entrepreneur lowers his prices to attract more business. If he didn't lower his prices and didn't sell any of his products, he would suffer even more of a loss. Lower prices are preferred by everyone, regardless of whether you are rich or poor.
By: royalslash. on 17 May 12, 19:00:59
"Likewise, those with less? income may prefer a higher quality laptop to make them feel good, thus willing to spend more money" But not more than it costs dude!!!!!!!!!!!! No one pays more than it costs! Thats a cllective feature of all consumers!
By: royalslash. on 17 May 12, 18:58:09
"People pay lower prices because they prefer lower prices to higher prices. That is why businessmen try to? keep down their costs, because they prefer to make more money" That us exactly true. And this is the reason why subjective value is not economic value. "People pay lower prices because they prefer lower prices " Dont you see that this? is not an individual feature of consumers? EVERYONE acts like that! This is a collective action.
By: parrottice1. on 17 May 12, 18:57:47
Value is inherent in all human action and choice. You are simply ignoring that fact, even though you are currently acting on your own value judgement. Really, it is sad. Either you know what I'm saying is true and you are in denial (which is common), or you simply don't accept the truth. That is the difference between scholars who allow you to think for yourself, and phonies who tell you what you should? think.
By: parrottice1. on 17 May 12, 18:55:31
Depending on one's income, they may prefer to pay more for a higher quality computer/laptop, as opposed to someone who makes a lower income, they may prefer to pay less for a lesser quality computer/laptop. Even those who make more money may prefer a lesser priced laptop so they can save more money for a future date. Likewise, those with less income may prefer a higher quality laptop to make them feel good, thus willing to spend more money. You know? what I am saying is true. It is not debatable.
By: royalslash. on 17 May 12, 18:55:08
You are debating a? fictitious enemy. Mises has indoctrinated you very well. No one is denying action exists. Please quote me when i have said action doesnt exist. Marxists dont deny action. They state that the only action a consumers chooses is to pay as little as possible. Would you deny that? Have you ever paid more at WalMart than you had to?
By: parrottice1. on 17 May 12, 18:52:55
It is truly sad (and I really mean that) how much you contradict yourself with your "pretzel logic". People pay lower prices because they prefer lower prices? to higher prices. That is why businessmen try to keep down their costs, because they prefer to make more money, just like workers prefer to make more money. Virtually every human being prefers higher wages and lower prices, thus increasing purchasing power and allowing them to save more to invest. All action is subjective to the individual
By: royalslash. on 17 May 12, 18:48:20
The value you are thinking of is not? the value that is behind prices. People dont pay according to their subjective values, they pay as little as possible! "Every action is aimed at higher contentment/happiness" That is true. And because that is true, people dont pay according to their subjective values. They pay as little money as possible to satisfy their needs, while industrialists compete one another to underprice each other. The result is that ECONOMIC value is not subjective value.
By: parrottice1. on 17 May 12, 18:37:40
Even when attempting to deny action exists, you are in a state of action. You make a choice to respond to me with your same gibberish. You can deny truth all you want, but you cannot escape action and choice. Marx's theory of value is a result of the value which was inherent in him choosing to write his work in the first place. You are upset now because you know the truth. You can ignore reality, but you cannot ignore the consequences? of ignoring reality.
By: royalslash. on 17 May 12, 18:32:57
Thats all trivial. That doesnt explain anything. Liberalism is the ideology that claims that this explains capitalism. That would also hold true to explain/defend slavery or feudalism. Because you believe that this is capitalism, you are upset when someones critsizes capitalism. Critizing capitalism means critizising a mode of production that divides people? into wage earners and owners of means of production and where profit is the sole reason for production.
By: parrottice1. on 17 May 12, 17:42:57
If a man was perfectly satisfied and all his wants and desires were met, he would not act. Man acts for the sake of bringing about a greater level of happiness, contentment, comfort, etc. Man's life from beginning to end is a ceaseless series of ordinal actions, each aimed at satisfying a want or need. All human action is therefore rational. There is no such thing as an irrational action because all human action? is aimed at attaining that on which man places value. Action means to choose.
