It may be enough exp for the students to pass the course, but they struggle? to find jobs on the other side...2 years experience and an MBA is not a particularly attractive profile for recruiters - certainly in the UK/Eur. Plain and simple: People started doubting MBA's image, so MBA programs started changing their image. A very typical MBA thing to do. BTW: MBA programs are very good at teaching the language of business. Like every industry that has been around for a long period of time, business has? developed its own culture and language...particularly "big" business. Indeed, being able to talk the talk does not equate to walking the walk. Only practice can do that, but having an education is a good start.

Although I really understand what he means and agree to some points, there are considerations to be made. Engineering, MBAs and such are only TOOLs. When you go biuld something at a construction site, it gives you much more confidence to go with the proper tools and the knowledge to operate them than otherwise.? Look, beta is a measure of a particular security's return versus that of the overall market--but you know this already. Thus, the reality is that beta is back-looking. And as you? know, the past is not necessarily a good indicator of the future. While it can be useful, a stock's risk shouldn't, in my opinion, be reduced to only a single number. Read Graham & Dodd's "Security Analysis" or Graham's "Intelligent Investor." Buffett's analysis is based off of these books.

It's possible I'm wrong (I'm only a student passionate about finance, not a professional) but margin of safety refers to the upside between the fair market value (current stock price) and the target price (Buffett arrives at this by looking at the book value of the company, its assets, etc). So, really the risk is accounted for in the target price. Does that make sense?

I kinda take neutral position on mba.... i am working on my mba right now, and it is pretty hard, and i started to believe that job market will get striker thus creating a need to get higher degree, so eventually in 10 to 20 years mba will become what is bachelor today (meaning you will need at least mba or masters in general? to get a good job).... but hey it is just my take on it

But he managed his personal life pretty well.? Limited resources, got paid real bad minimum wages & blue color jobs & lots of constrains, social & economic one under which he raised two children, one is becoming doctor & other lawyer. And he is not stopping there. He still wants his kids to do MBA after MD & MBA with JD. So that the kids would know how to accomplish their objectives in life with limited resources.

MBA is an useless course(there are obviously exceptions as in all places,there are some out of the crowd guys and girls) ,unless u have some strong supporting degree or presently working somewhere with strong skill sets in any domain. In short ,MBA is like "A? jack of all trades ,Master of NONE!!"

I totally disagree.MBA is mainly meant for B.Com graduates, or Arts graduates who can cram boring texts,summarize and vomit in the exams or for those elite engineering guys who always get preference everywhere.MBA is mainly meant for experienced? professionals,B.Com grads, engineering students who get preference in colleges and they easily get good marks as the management of these colleges prefer to get more engineering students to make their college more renowned and get better rankings.
