Antonio brought such joy and passion and HUMOR to the role. Daniel was dour and self-serious...though I could? blame that more on the director, who seemed to completely miss the point of what NINE was about and made pointless changes like making the agent a costume designer or Guido's wife of 20 years and mother of his children a 30-year old. Anyway, it's proof that the "best" actor isn't always necessarily best for the role.

I love Antonio, but his accent is just...too blatantly Spanish for Guido, I think. And he's just too cute...I know, there's the whole "Projecting to the audiance live performance nyahhh" thing he has to contend with...but I tihnk DDL did it a little more convincingly, just because he is a little? older and plays the whole tortured artistic soul perhaps better than our dear Zorro... but, just an opinion....

in regards to your comments about, plot, well the musical actually has less of a plot than the movie, and the original movie, which the play is based on, even less of a plot. Is a film called 8 1/2 by the great italian filmmaker, FELLINI. the mistake with the movie NINE, in my opinion, was that they tried too hard to make it a more conventional film but? without really going all the way, It felt like they didn'nt know if they wanted an artistic film or just another fun musical.

Charm and attraction are a personal opinion. Because? I found DDL completely handsome and gorgeous in the movie. All this arguing.... Cash did an amazing cover. However, they simply are not the same song. The emotions provoked and the thoughts behind them are totally different. I? dont have a single bad thing to say about the the man in black. But when I'm at my lowest of low there is NO substitute for this song.

I agree potential penquin.. This movie had so many good actors and so much potential but I could not believe how it fell so FLAT.. I was shocked!... I walked out of that theater? in a daze lol.. But the Music was absolutely amazing.. its ONLY redeeming quality... Kate Hudson blew my mind on how good she was.. I would think they would of left that kind of dancing to Fergie.. But Kate held her own thats for sure.. It had so much potential such a disappointment.
