Actually I have. Iceland has simplistic? architecture, no art, literature, theatre or significant culture of any kind to speak of. It has boring barren landscapes and an insular parochial local population. And as it was settled by Norsemen the people are of course no more attractive than the ones in Norway, just less well travelled, open minded or interested in other cultures. Did I miss something?

I did my? military service in the north (most do), and come from the central part where days are, for a lack of a better word, normal. In the north, winter came, with 40 below celcius, and complete darkness. It was half an hour of dusk every day, else pitch black. For 3 months or something.
