Thanks for the info. I haven't had a chance to test the 3.0 compatability of the 680 and 690. It is odd the 670 doesn't work, but it could be something with the amount of new CUDA cores the card has. I hope they come out with an update? for that soon. :)

somethign adobe have been open with and thats , that it wont use the full 512 cudacores from previous cards, it also wont communicate with dual gpu's either. but you need to consider do you really need a quadro/tesla for your needs or rather speed the money on a gtx680. the gtx680 only geats beaten interms of memory by about 2gb . and to be honest if adobe dont allow? the support of the gtx680 i can only assume they are forcing users to shell out extreme amount of money on cards they will support

so explain the difference between quadro/tesla and the gtx680. because as far as i can see the gtx680 is the winner in specs. the only thing i see that quadro/tesla have up on gtx680 is an extra 2gb? maybe, but thats about it., which means a user could spend money on a further gtx680 to sort that out and gain more memory.

If you? use Adobe in your day-to-day work and can't afford downtime a Quadro card is best. Quadro GPUs are designed, built and directly supported by NVIDIA with a three year warranty. Yes definitely, it is called SLI for Nvidia GPUs and Crossfire for ATI? GPUs. Check if your current GPU allows SLI and if there is another of the same model for sale. Also please make sure your motherboard does have the correct and enough slot for the 2nd GPU.

In power, they are somewhat comparable. Even though the 7970 was in a CrossFire setup, the 690 was shown to be just as good as both the cards combined. When comparing multiple cards to a single one, it should be easy to estimate a little speed, power, and cooling difference due to multiple cards over a single one. And multiple cards can actually increase the temperature of any individual card, no matter how many fans there are on it, simply? due to the increased ambient temperature.

Hi guys. I'll be getting a GTX 680 soon and I might consider SLI in the future. I currently have a Thermaltake Toughpower (not Grand) 1200W power supply that has 4? 12v rails on it. 2 rails provide 20 amps each and the other 2 provide 36 amps each. If I run an SLI system using a 36amp 12v rail for each card, would I encounter any stability issues? I can't seem to find an amperage draw for the GTX 680 anywhere on the net.

The cost of making the games work on consoles is also very high. PC's will pay for a game and some small profit.. but? a flop kills the model as the profits can't cover that. PC + PC Cloud would cover all the bases and lower costs. No upfront system cost for console gamers.. It just needs low latency and GeForce GRID is a good step.. Add some CPU to that GPU and you are there with the ability for the GPU to connect directly to the NIC.

I could code in CUDA, it's easy to learn. people will buy the hardware required to? play amazing games, but not as many if there aren't games that use it.. Devs don't make them because not enough people have the HW. A chicken egg problem. Somebody needs to make a game that looks amazing know it will not make as much money, but only pave the way. I've been playing Eve since 2006, I think this more than qualifies me to comment on the graphics and game mechanics. How you play Eve may be different from me, but if I zoom into my ship or any other ship around me, it means I lose? my tactical overview of the area. It doesn't matter if you do missions or fight in PvP combat, the position of the enemy ships is important if you want to keep your transversal high while keeping your designated target within optimal range.

Not the way I play EVE. I play with the camera up close to my ship, and I occasionally zoom out for a quick tactical view of the battle. When I fight, I will literally hold the right mouse button, then the left mouse button and zoom to? get an epic view of my weapons tracking and firing on my target.

The one thing that has always stopped me from playing this game is the fact it's not like X series? games where you can actively sit in the cockpit and shoot things, have friends join you in your ship to mine as a group, or even in large battles with hundreds of people controlling different aspects of the ships, from flight to fight, to wing squadrons being launched out of the hangers. Heck even just walking around on stations. Shame really that it's that detailed for nothing.

Quite the opposite actually. The mouse tends to be a little more precise then the controllers. Also, PC is flexible, so if you really? wanted to you could plug up a controller and use it (even an xbox one).

If you would choose ATI graphics cards. I suggest using the HD 6950, like mine. It"s not expensive and it runs Battlefield 3 on 1080p Ultra settings just around 30-40 fps, so quite smooth:) All COD's work really smooth on Extra texture settings on1080p? never going below 80 fps. Crysis 1 works around 55-60 fps in Extra High texture settings. And I'm sure all the other games you listed will work really fluid as well.

Some of these are on iOS actually, like Shadowgun. And the iOS version actually looks better and runs? smoother despite running at 2048x1536 on the new iPad. Plus I and a lot of other people can't stand the touch screen lag that every android device seems to have, including the new Galaxy Nexus. It's gotten better with ICS, but the lag is still there which makes gaming on android suck.
