The problem is that Obama? has tried all the wrong policies. He tried a big-spending Keynesian package that was supposed to be a "stimulus," but that's the same failed approach that Bush tried in 2008, the same failed approach that Japan tried in the 1990s, and the same failed approach that Hoover and Roosevelt tried in the 1930s. Taking money out of the economy's productive sector and letting politicians engage in a spending spree is the opposite of prudent policy.

Thats why solyndra failed, not because of republicans not liking oil's competition, im not against solar power, i think its a good idea, but its only 2% efficient. As far as I know the Democrats have not passed one budget in the past 3 and 1/2 years. I would like to know which one was shot down or how the republicans in the senate could shoot it down when the democrats have the votes to pass it. As for that loose version, the CBO can't score speeches only bills.? Also, it would have been nice to have had an online dissagreement about policy that did not devolve into race baiting.

I know at least 1 because before we got our credit down graded,? republican shot that one down. And if I'm not mistaken, a loose version of that one is the one that passed. There are two debt ceiling bills. The one created in the House of Representatives and one being created in the Senate. The House is ran by Republicans and the Senate is ran by Democrats. While neither bill truly addresses the outrageous Federal spending it's the Senate bill that creates a scenario that enables the debt ceiling crisis to become a non-issue through 2012. In other words the Democrats don't want it to be a factor? in 2012 when Obama runs for re-election. That's their main motivation.

My view is that people with cash coming in can pay a percentage of that in taxes, and that people who do not have any cash coming in shouldn't be asked to have any going out. Period. Corporations eliminated retirement plans in favor of 401K plans. 401K plans are gambling and you're gambling against the rich who have inside information and benefit from market bubble collapses (i.e, technology bubble burst in 2000 and the housing bubble burst in 2008).
