Yeah sure the 86 film had a heart...the heart to replace every character we loved by ones who were forgetable just to bring in more toys. Better plots yet you say they weren't delivered well. Maybe the idea was interesting, but it's no reason to mess with established lore. If you like the Bay? films, more power to you. Many more fans of the franchise would lump him in with Uwe Bolle as a terrible director though. The 86 film had real heart. It was also to bridge MTMTE with G2. There was a point to everything that happened in it, instead of making them look like a bunch of superglued utensils. I agree the touch shouldn't be in it

No, it'd be a disasterous mess. No normal person today would go see a movie that lives in the past. The action in the 80's movie is shit compared to the films, the emotion is debatable, the 80's dont have shit on? the films, and the music? Lol, if they played the touch during a battle scene it would not only be totally off tone with the fight, but now a days, playing music like that in a movie like this would make it look like scary movie 5. If anything, it'd make less money.

Exept bay actualy gave the films? better plots, orchestral score, kept prime alive, and didnt kill every character and replaced them with forgettable characters. Grant it, the plots weren't delivered good, but the ideas about the moon, autobot-decepticon deals, the primes were better than a monster eating other planets (fantastic 4 rise of the silver surfer for example).BTW, had the touch been in the touch been in the films, it would be a cheesy mess.

This movie was to end the old line of toys and bring in new ones. If you pay attention several other autobots and decepticons were killed off in this movie. For the directors it was just a marketing strategy that Hasbro wanted. They didn't realize Optimus was such an influencial leader role model towards kids. They? did pay for it cause the Rodimus character never sold like Optimus. Plus they recieved a lot of hate mail from parents cause it upset their kids so much.

I remember watching this for the first time and thinking the exact? same thing! I was so pissed that Ultra Magnus exploded and was put back together, yet Prime and all the other older autobots died. I saw an interview with Flint Dille from a few years ago and he said that he didn't realize that kids had become attached to the characters and were annoyed with the writing. because ultra magnus was new it would have been senseless to kill him off as Hasbro wanted a profit selling the "new"heroes as the old ones? from the cartoon was obselite now after 2 years of the shelf. They killed off OP as a way to ad Hotrod and make it dramatic but Hasbro didnt relise his poluraity as well as Ironhide,Starscream and Megs who were fan favs but it would have been pointless to kill a new character!

I love that this movie had the balls to do what most series won't do which is make characters, especially the heroes? vulnerable, but this movie very well may have been the beginning of the end of the series by killing off a character who was loved by all in Optimus Prime, and then having a lot of other characters killed off in a gauntlet with no emotional build up. Fans couldn't get behind Rodimus Prime like the same way, and the time they brought Optimus back it may have been too late.

Actually, they didn't know they would have to bring him back. Prime's return happened because of a major public backlash against what this scene shows. The creators (or whomever) realized they were facing a major PR disaster, so it was decided to write Prime back into the series. In essence, because Prime was? such a beloved character, millions of kids hated him dying, and began abandoning TF as a result. To stop this trend, Prime was brought back in S3 Dark Awakening and Return of Optimus Prime.

Correct, they did bring Prime back (twice) in Season 3 (Dark Awakening, and the Return of Optimus? Prime). As to your statement about this scene being powerful, let there be no doubt about that. This was a very powerful scene to be sure. However, I believe it was a mistake just the same. This is also a very long debated point among G1 fans (with no prevailing conclusion settled on). As AVGN said, it took balls to kill everyone off... especially Optimus (I think the only old ones left were Hound, Sunstreaker, Jazz and Perceptor). It may have just been to make all new toys (more cheaply made ones) and? sell those, but this was a powerful scene for a kid's movie. Out of all the kids' movies made out of toy lines and TV shows, this easily has to be one of the best. Sure it borrows from Star Wars, but everyone liked Star Wars back then. And they did bring Optimus back.

I realize this was to quickly make room for new characters, but,? imo, it was clumsily done. For instance, I had wondered what had become of Shockwave. hey there, great review, query about his wepons though. i seen some episodes of tfp lately where his weapons are not upright like the product images show. if you rotate his hands? inwards and slide the weapons into the bottom of his hand it gives a more show accurate appearance, also the upside down sword doesnt look as bad. P.S both weapons will sit flush up on his arms.

they only did that in the later films, the only incedent like that i remember from the first film was bumblebee 'lubrecating' on the sector 7 guy... i know what you mean tho, pissed me off seeing the robots drooling everywhere, at least it was mostly the 'cons... there is talk of a 4th movie, but it'll be losing sam. if we're lucky they'll learn from what the? previous ones got wrong and we'll get to see a few more classic characters.

I found them pretty easy to tell who was ment to be who... but at the same time i see where you're coming from, they did change far too much, and while some of the new characters were actualy pretty cool there was no need to make up new characters (or dig out the more obscure ones) when there were so many great characters they left out. am i the only one who wants to see warpath show up? In the latter (crap) half of G1 there is a? character called ultra magnus... he spends most of his time being a huge (much bigger than prime) robot but in the few episodes where he does transform you find out the form you normaly see him in is when he combines with his traler, without it he's a white pallet swap of optimus.

This is my opinion, but Movie Prime would destroy G1 Prime if it ever came to (Even though I highly doubt it, they would consolidate and work together because of how good they both are). Movie Prime is, character wise, the ultimate prime. Strong,? wise, caring, skillful; He has it all. I love both the Movie and G1 series, but Movie prime is more practical.

@futurredestiny61923 the ride officially opens on May 25. It was only opened to Annual Passholders and the people that THEY invited to? go with them on the sneak preview weekend. So the ride is not open yet.
