That's pretty? high - I use about 1,47v at 4,2GHz and it's 24/7 stable (stability tested with AMD OverDrive), temps are still comfortable (maxes out around 49c). You might have been "unlucky" with the chip you got, not all CPUs are the same... :)

Well, right now at 4ghz, its fine, nice cool night, around 65f in my house, so the max with prime95 is around 53c, but its them hot days like 80+f out side and warmer inside I run into problems. Voltage to get it stable is around 1.53v and CPU-NB 1.3v for 2.9 Case is a Thermaltake V9, H60 mounted to the back (push pull) as intake and blowing air out the front with a 120mm 110cfm fans. At 1.53v, the vdrops to? 1.47v at times, and never passes 1.51v for max in HWmonitor PSU is a corsair GS700.

Yes, and no - depends on what method you use (multiplier or HT? ref clock). If you OC with HT ref clock, then Cool'n'Quiet should work like normal (but disable it while you're overclocking, so you don't run into problems when testing for stability). If you OC by changing multiplier, then Cool'n'Quiet will most probably fail. But there is a tool for enabling "custom Cool'n'Quiet", called PhenomMsrTweaker (just google and download) - I use it now and it works perfectly... :)

Well the fil here was that i wrote the wronge name on the processer :P FAIL Yes i admit... Well the Intel Core i-7 don't remember t´wich one i hade but it couldent even compile a map for counter Strike source 2007 engine, and it was 2,9Gh/z it was like fuck this while my old AMD Athlon 64 x2 2,19Gh/z was doing the jobb great it compiled all sorts of maps but it was really old? and lather broke so it was time for new pc :3 So i got intel core i-7 well i was dissapo...

sorry for the long texts lol, but also the cooler on this card is really quiet, i cant hear the fans at all until they reach 45% speed and the computer is next to me on my desk, when im doing nothing or just watching youtube they only spin at 20% (totaly silent) and when gaming well mine gets to about? 55% but as i previously said my room temp is so high that once i get an air cooler it will probably never get past 40%

my maximum oc'ing i can reach ill sure test it out and really compare it with the gtx 580 / gtx 670 / gtx 680 / 7950 / 7970 benchmarks, dunno when ill do it yet tho, my room temp is so hot? (30 celcius atm) that i wanna buy an air cooler before playing with the voltage and putting more heat into it, but i guess at the same time you dont have the befinefits of a nvidia card (if you need them) such as CUDA and their new AA thingy and physx but none of them attracted me so i went with the 7870 :P

I was curious about this so I went and looked. In cinebench the 1100t is superior at the same clocks. With an overclock of about 4.6ghz the 8120/8150 would be better, but would have a lot more power consumption, and need more money for a better cooler. Wow phenom 2's almost? even beat bulldozer in multi-theaded apps, only loosing because bulldozer can reach higher overclocks...

Will a i7 2600k Sandy Bridge be compatible with a this GPU? I heard that PCI-e 3.0 and a Sandy Bridge? aren't compatible. They said i would need to have a Ivy Bridge. Is that really true or did they just talk crap?

You should totally do a video comparing all the new prefilled watercooling kits out now like the h80,h100,coolit vantage,thermaltake big water/performer (like you have on this video) and the antec kuhler 620/920. Calm down, kid. I'm 24 years old and work full time in a well paid job. What has photoshop or video editing got to do with anything? I bought the i7 for longevity (I bought my bundle on finance and getting an i7 over an i5 and paying over 36 months meant that I won't really feel the price difference) and have had the PC for about a month - I've hardly? had a chance to overclock for optimal settings. I have 8 ram slots on my board - may as well utilise all.

Sounds like effort and ram timings are not high up on my knowledge of overclocking. They are? currently set to 9 9 9 27. Do I just have to change this or does each channel have different setting capabilities? I may just buy an additional 4x4 for it seeing as they are so cheap anyway. Long story; I ordered a bundle from OCuk that was supposed to come with 8GB (4x2GB) ram. It actually came with 16GB (4x4) to my surprise and I ordered another 8GB on top at the same time (obviously oblivious to the fact I got more than I bargained for). So that's why... but all 8 slots are populated so I didn't think it would be an issue? Would it? Should I? remove the 4x2 and have it at 16GB? The resolution is 1920x1080 60Hz refresh. Cheers mate.

So is it normal for this card to dip under 60FPS in most scenes on BF3 with ultra settings? This is what happens to me on stock (with the OC edition). I have an i7 3820 @ 3.6GHz stock and 24GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM. I don't think either are? bottlenecks. :p

I have the same GPU and would like to know is 70-75 degrees considered a dangerous temperature if we know the max operating temperature of this card is 102? Ofc that is not idle temperature but while playing Crysis 2 and i must say that my processor? fails the minimum requirements to play that, but with lowering the graphic options, stopping every other single program and tweaking the gpu a bit it runs kinda ok :P So again should i bother about such temperature while playing?

Nice to see actual "overclocking" of a low-end card like that. Next time though, please include GPU-Z readouts and maybe a furmark test to show the temperatures? you get are working for you (difference between manual 100% and automatic on fan control maybe)
