If you were educated on the subject you would know that the majority of those with depression go undiagnosed, meaning they aren't seeking recognition. I was raised upper middle class and was diagnosed with depression several years ago now. The only thing I can say to you is until you've had it there is nothing to describe it. I have no reason to be unhappy and most people would love to be where I am. But even on the best days it can? strike without warning and I'm face down in concentric layers of grief that have to work themselves loose. There is nothing I can do but take it minute to minute.

I exhibit some traits of NPD. On a test to see, people who have NPD would have scored over 20. I scored a 24. Although I am not totally infatuated with myself; matter of fact I find myself hideous at times, I do find that I get jealous very easily and react to criticism too harshly. I have a twin with NPD. The ego makes them work hard, often very hard and so I guess they often gain success. However, others around these people can't deal with them. It strange since we are identical twins and I don't have it. I can't speak to him often becuase he twists everything so intense it becomes complete lies. I don't see how a relationship with a dependent person could ever work out. I suppose if you are willing to do all the work and give everything to the dysfunctional adult then it could. I think that that would just be disabling them further though. I'm sure you'd treat an alcoholic by giving them someone who has such a problem relating to people sober that they don't mind paying to keep the alcoholic drunk all the time. I live with someone with this disorder, she was so agreeable and fun the first year I knew? her that she convinced me to marry her. Then as soon as we were married she just stays at home. I used to suffer? from this with. For years my boyfriends didn't understand me and I suffered some serious abuse in order to stay with them, I had an intense fear of being alone. I always switched from one boyfriend to the next. Fortunately, I found someone who understands this condition. He was able to take care of me mentally. Now I feel more independent than ever, and I'm so glad I never took any medications... you're right, this is the most simple and healthiest fix!
