This song isn't about cancer - it is an ode to the biblical story of Samson and Delilah where Delilah was used to seduce Samson in order to find out the secret to his strength. It was discovered that if Samson's hair was cut off, he would lose his strength - Delilah betrayed his love and cut it while he was asleep one night.? Regina isn't necessarily portraying the same story, however she is using the biblical tone as a reference to a failed relationship (hence the columns, bible etc).

I personally think this song is comparing the Samson she knew who died of cancer to the Samson in the bible- how the Samson she knew was just as strong in many different ways than the Samson in the bible, yet she feels like he will be forgotten about in history (and the bible didn't mention us) The wonderbread shows how weak he becomes from the chemo because he can barely eat. To be honest if I had to just say something about this song... just because a song has religious allusions in its lyrics doesn't mean it's actually about the bible. People can make religious reference? and have commonalities but the overall meaning can be completely different. The best explanation I have read here is the cancer one... it's the most likely explanation. Either way I don't really care because I have my own personal interpretation as others do but I just wanted to clear that up. :-)

So I just watched this movie, and it was pretty much one of the most amazing and honest movies I've ever seen. Warwick is an amazing director, and I wish people would watch more of his movies? than half of the shitty movies we have in Hollywood. Dang, the kids in this movie were just first timers, and yet he managed to capture piercing emotions and gold out of them!

I loved this movie that I saw on fillmsi.co.cc. It? was bittersweet in the fullest sense. NOT a romantic comedy, though it was definitely romantic and comedic at times. A breath of fresh air in the midst of Summer Blockbuster Season.

It's a story about a dude that had really long hair and was strong because of it, then his little girlfriend cut off his hair and? he lost his strength so he was arrested and blinded. after that he somehow grew his hair out being imprisoned and knocked over the pillars that held the building up and killed himself and the jerks that arrested him. but this song is about his lover feeling bad about it I guess. it's a really old story and true. :D

That is a very good interpretation! I would never have thought about that. At my camp we talked about this song and how it is a reference to the bible saying Delilah used Samson for money from what ever empire wanted him dead. And it is? never explained why he finally let her cut his hair after refusing her 3 times before. But this song is saying that she did not use him but that she loved him for him and he loved her, they cut his hair to make him normal so they could live together.
