Doctors in the UK and Canada have FAR more freedom than we have. In the UK the NHS had only 887 medical lawsuits in 2009. In 2004 Canada had 1104. THe reason is that if the Doc makes a mistake and you are disabled you still have coverage so you are far less likely to sue them in the first place. ?

Well it shouldn't ever be "illegal" we should have the choice not to use it and visit physicians who offer there own price for services. The process won't? be immediate as far as prices coming down. We have to work towards that. But if Doctors are allowed more freedom to practice medicine how they please without the fear of being sued for ridiculous reasons, then we will see a gradual drop in medical charges as the "invisible hand" takes effect.

Besides, 51% of our taxes go to funding the military industrial complex. I'm not one for government, but Ron Paul seems to be the only guy who cares about our liberty and the only one who wants peace. In terms of abortion, I think the constitutional argument is pretty simple, if you determine that life begins at conception than you have two solid arguments. One is the constitutional protection of life and protection of private property rights. Surely? the most important private property is your body, so I would take it from there. In terms of Demint, I would say that his detractors use the constitution to hold his feet to the fire on all issues.

The Constitution says nary a word about abortion, sodomy, gay rights, healthcare, or an insurance mandate. But that doesn't stop many conservatives from erroneously assuming that it means that those things are "unconstitutional." There are much better arguments against an insurance mandate than simply saying, "This isn't constitutional." It's kind of a weak argument, really. To me, it's the? desperate man's last resort in a way.

I hate to admit it, but I'm not sure EVERYTHING that was omitted from the Constitution is necessarily "unconstitutional." It has to? be a little more substantive an argument than that. I mean, the Constitution was drafted over 200 years ago. The Founders couldn't possibly have envisioned our world today. If they did, I'm sure the Constitution would be a little bulkier. I say when you cite the Constitution, use issues EXPLICITLY dealt with in the document.

At least Ron Paul ALWAYS follows a strict interpretation. He doesn't just whip out? the Constitution when it's convenient. What about those two wars in the Middle East that didn't even use a Congressional declaration? What about the AUMF, which, at least on its face, supposedly "gives the president the power to do whatever he wants to fight terrorism"? That's DICTATORIAL power!
