This is? probably one of the best interviews I've seen. People might see them as sellouts, not real musicians etc., should go to a KISS show and see what it's all about. The amount of work these guys do for their fans on and off stage is amazing and always will be. You are mistaken. My first post had two occurrences of the name and only one misspelling. Additionally, there were two more posts and no misspellings. Perhaps, you have misattributed another's grammatical transgression to me. Since we are discussing grammar, you began you second sentence with? a coordinating conjunction (defn. used to join words, phrases, and clauses) which is a? primary school mistake and clearly not accidental which is what is important;so, you must not know better.

Interestingly, a number of philosophers of the group we're talking about had math backgrounds: I've always thought there a connection between several of the more obscure of the mathmaticians-turned-philosophers such as Pythagoras or. for example, Edmund Husserl than is noted by those who take "Continentals" seriously...as if both disciplines encourage one to disregard the world of physical objects around us for some? other one underlying it. Well, perhaps Heidegger was trying too hard to be something that he ultimately never would have been able to achieve. I attended graduate school for math;? so, I'm not as fluence with the major periods/schools of philosophy as I would like to be. For that reason, I'm working through the nine volumes of "The History of Philosophy" that I referenced earlier. I'm sure that at some point different authors & schools of thought will gain and subsequently loss favor with me as my world view varies.

Well, the reaction is to Cavell's eloquence and not necessarily to the movie. Regarding your very nice philosophical question, I think Dr. Cavell only needed to wait until 'Snakes on a Plane' was released in order to provide an answer: movies don't have to possess any artistic or culture value. Regarding Heidegger and the Nazis, many critics have proffered the idea that Heideggar was simply trying to be the incarnation of Plato's "Philosopher King". In this context, Heideggar can be viewed as someone who didn't quite understand the true? nature of "Die Fuehrer" (although a reading of Mein Kampf should have given him a clue) and once invested found that a subsequent disassociation to be highly impractical. In my interactions with philosophers, the approach is always to understand the nature of how a specific problem can be generalized and studied rigorously. When I'm playing jazz piano? I play differently than I when I play jazz synthesizer. Just differently. As a child of the 80's, those textures are familiar and dear to me. Listening to Miles' Decoy at age 9 was like glimpsing another emotionally jarring world. The music there is as "authentic" "technical" and "expressive" as acoustic jazz. Jazz is a frame of mind, not a set of instruments, and real musicians and music aficionados can hear this, don't need to be told what's up by Stanley Crouch.

It isn't perfect, but his point remains true. An altered? 9th chord on a piano or a Prophet 5 synthesizer is still an altered 9th. The music whether made with electronics or not is still the same music, perhaps different in tone and the possibilities of life that it suggests. Just different. If you had ever touched a quality synthesizer, you would know that they can be every bit as expressive as an acoustic instrument. If people can't see past that, it's their problem.

My God, but this brings memories of those long lost Saturday nights of my cherished childhood. Grew up in Eastern Kentucky near Pikesville of the early to mid '60's. Extremely interesting and somewhat scary lecture. This stuff is so disruptive across so many industries and what he only barely hinted at is that it could all happen a LOT faster than he thinks. Combine this with graphene and nanotube developments and the future as most people imagine is already around the corner. In fact, I rather feel sorry for software developers. Sorry, the name "Cyberdyne" has already been scooped up by a japanese company that makes Hybrid-Assistive-Limb technology(... or HAL? for short :-) ). It's a sort of exeskeleton robo-suit that is intended for disabled people, search and rescue type operations and heavy manual labour in factories where you'd want a machine to do most of the heavy lifting but you need the brains, flexibility and agility of a person.

I´m quite relaxed, listing to what the presenters of the memristor says, they keep saying "jit reacts ust like a neuron", so if you build a digital copy of the human brain with memristors, and insert an self? learning program. What does it take for the digital brain to become self aware? Just take a simple example, the Boston Dynamics Mule. When it walked over some ice and self corrected the engineers was surprised how life like it responded.

wayne, I play this on classical guitar. It's very difficult, but just take it very slowly. It took me about 6 months to really get to where I didn't have to think about the higher frets with fear. It's so beautiful that it's worth the effort. Good? luck and just remember that you're a talented musician if you can play this.

This songs, remind me to myself... why?? It's easy, I'm from Mexico, and my cousin and I, like 2 years ago, went several times to hunt, squirrel, rabbit, deer, but... when I went to the university... In a students protest, I was caught on prison, like 5 days and in that time I was torturated, the police try make me to confese...
