A safety might very well do that, a linebacker hits with his head up, facemask in the #'s, throwing the hips and driving him into the ground, a defensive lineman will usually arm tackle and? pull them in to get leverage to take them down do to their strength, a corner will alot of times dive into the runners legs or pull them down by jersey or something. Rugby is a continuous sport with no breaks, the tackler wants his opponent down as effectively and as effortlessly he can, he needs to conserve power. In NFL the tackler goes to his opponent with the STRONGEST he has. All I'm saying from the start is that NFL because of the player's mass, speed and game rules provides stronger collisions. NFL salary is 7 times the average rugby salary, so I don't think luctractivness is the problem.

That's because we don't talk about the same sport. In rugby you "tackle" in a way more technical in that of an NFL player. In A.Football you "collide". The kind of protective gear you mock like a steel helmet can easily play the role of a battering ram. Still comparing that kind of a tackle to a shoulder to the waist one?? Consider that,if most rugby players were physically able to be competitive in A.F. wouldn't they prefer NFL's contracts? How many did? succesfully jump to this league?

Right! I get it, dont tackle high because you get more leverage, correct? Thats why you make sure to get your pads lower then the defenses, it makes it tougher for them to hit you! My problem on defense is? not getting to the player necessarily, but wrapping them up as they seem to always sidestep me. oh and I have been to many stadiums and? hung out with tons of fans (Indy, Cleveland, Detroit, Tenn, Cincy) and non of them are near the shithead level of Pittsburgh fans....and thats sad to say because I remember when I was a kid that it was a proud city. The people were hard working, and all around good people/fans. Its sad that the entire football world has to see them as complete jerks because of their fan base.
