that's true. our german health care system is? paradise when compared to the USA, but many european neighbours put ours to shame!
By: Aroddo. on 28 May 12, 12:24:36
yeah, but we? also just got rid of the american system again. only a few states still have tuition fees ... most are like described in the video again.

The sad thig is that in Germany they have just started experimenting with the USA university model. In spite of complaints and resistant from students and faculty who say the American model doesn't allow the student the time and freedom to study, many private universities in Germany are adopting the system because it is profitable, Students get quickly in and quickly? out whether they have learned anything or not. This is what you get when you makes schools and hospitals for profit!

One of the reason I want to go into the arena of politics is because our present government is too resistant to change. We need to entirely change how we perceive education. It needs to be? SIMPLE and easy. I wish we would look toward Germany. They have a great, simple, modest educational system. Let's adopt this idea and make it better.
By: Usablue2012. on 25 May 12, 21:42:26
I love the German idea for education. I wish the USA would adopt their idea of a cheap, affordable, quality university and make it better. Only way we can beat Europe is if we adapt and change our ways. USA has the idea that spending more means a better university-- not? entirely. We need to make it affordable and create a motivational and rigorous atmosphere in it. In other words, we need to take the German idea and make it better.

I'm from India & I studied Engineering for a while in Germany. There is a trade-off. Children in India are more motivated to learn than German students, I found. There's also A LOT less competition-- I loved this! Also, teachers are more frank and give less examples; they give less teaching time. Finally, they? have less breaks & longer classes but shorter days. In Germany, it went from 12 to 18:00. In India, it was from 10 to 19:00 for me. I have never been to USA so I will have to c how it is.

It is called propaganda.? The average American listens to their news media and believes every word delivered to their brain.
By: UCVibes. on 25 May 12, 08:55:31
Don't let anyone fool you. The German health care system is excellent compared to the United States system. The Danish Health system is even better? than Germany.

I was living in the same german city and actually the dorms at the campus are way much better than the average american dorms of just 1 tiny room with 4 beds and a microwave. In Germany there are appartments, not dorms, so you live with 3 more people and each of you have their own very comfortable bedroom with furniture, there are 2 badrooms in each appartment (1 shared by 2 people) and a very good size kitchen. Ok, you don't pay 200 USD as she said but like 270 USD.? That's AWESOME Germany!!! ;)

By: quatroseven. on 20 May 12, 03:40:25

How can I provide statistics for my opinion? I never said anything about the US being ranked higher by anyone other than myself... You seem to have missed the part where I was giving my opinion and you were trying to argue facts....which you then refused to back up. Side note that I am for restricting a speed limit because i'm pretty sure it would be dangerous to allow people to accelerate to unnecessary speeds in America.? Maybe in Germany safe roads with laws and limits isn't a thing yet.
By: MsHyde1. on 18 May 12, 08:35:45
And please provide stats that show the US health care stystem is ranked better than Germany anywhere. And please also provide stats that show the US economy and social structure is better than in Germany. "consensus of opinion" And by that you mean your opinion, gotcha! ^_^ I guess by your opinion the US' pothole ridden, thin highways and pansy speed restrictions are more forward than Germany's hightech highways on which you can land? a jet. Aww, fantasy worlds..
By: MsHyde1. on 18 May 12, 08:28:13
England? Oh crap, that explains a lot. Judging from your German you never lived here and don't seem to have a clue about the choice of health care you have in Germany. The World Health Organisation ranks countries' health care systems by stats on quality level, distribution, responsiveness and price. And these stats prove that even Costare Rica is doing better than the US. What about you actually real up on? the study instead of going "lalalala, I don't want to hear you"? XD
By: brainiac554. on 17 May 12, 23:17:55
I'm actually not American, but I would expect someone with your unique perspective to assume that. I've only lived here for a few years and was born in raised in Mayfair England. I'm also still waiting for these "completely factual statistics" you continue to refer to. I mean it's not as if I? pull my opinions out of thin air. If you compare the economic and social structures as well as legal structure a consensus of opinion is clear. Side note my misuse of the word "then" is also irrelevant.
By: MsHyde1. on 17 May 12, 22:00:17
Sorry sweetie, all I wrote is the truth. I lived in both countries. ^_^ Whether any of that relates to you personally is completely irrelevant but that is the truth about your country that is like a 3rd world country compared to Germany in so many? aspects. I like how anything that doesn't relate to YOU is irrelevant to you. Typical egocentric, selfish, ignorant American. Problem is, that doesn't change the sad reality of your country that is lagging behind so much. PS: It's 'than', not 'then'.
By: brainiac554. on 17 May 12, 20:01:18
All that and I can STILL get better health care then Germany. Maybe I misjudged? just how far behind you guys were. By the way, I love how you argue completely irrelevant points. most of which have no truth behind them or relate to me in any way.
By: anonympirate. on 17 May 12, 10:40:41
du hast? es erfasst BGE jetzt ;)
By: MsHyde1. on 17 May 12, 09:18:59
The American apparently think it is a good idea to by everything on credit cards. Being in high dept is a stigmata in Germany but damn, you guys are really going for it. The country is owned by China, the people by the banks. We've already seen what happens when the bubble bursts. I could go on about outsourcing the production of many companies, the exploitation of US? workers, the lack of labor rights, the influence of religous fundies, the "quality" of the media, the censorship, big brother..
By: MsHyde1. on 17 May 12, 09:14:19
You privatised many? prisons and those companies now have a reason to support a ridiuclous "justice" system to get more human supplies. Lets not even talk about human rights. Your culture tends to glorify violence and guns and so it is no wonder that your death through guns rates are, it think it is something around 15-times higher than in Germany. It's funny how certain lobbies manage to profit by simply suggesting to Americans that guns equal freedom (useless against real military gone bad).
