We, the fans, are the bosses!!!? You bet I'll be the first one to boycott the NBA.
By: 42marisol1. on 19 Oct 11, 08:36:06
I love the way the NBA announcers like Greg Anthony say we really know the fans wan't this thing (lockout) to end so we can see some basketball. Greg, my man you are missing the? point ! Let them cut their own throats and piss off the fans. Fans could do a lil' bargaining & and boycott ALL NBA games. Make em charge $10 for front row seats and 2 or 3 bucks for seats way up there. Fans don't know how much power we have - we should take advantage of the NBA now - they've done it to us for years !
By: 42marisol1. on 19 Oct 11, 08:27:53
I watch the NBA channel pretty frequently particularly old school Monday? which shows games from as far back as the 50's. Many involve Jordan and I never watch those because the media (ESPN) shoved him down our throats for so many years , had enough of him for 5 lifetimes. They try to do the same w/ L.James and I love to see him fail. They christened him from day one and it ain't working. Miami tried to buy it all and low key Dallas whipped their ass. Dirk was the superstar , James an observer
By: 42marisol1. on 19 Oct 11, 08:19:53
I am a homer and root for all DC area teams Maryland, G-town (Coach Thompson and Ronnie Thompson attended Gonzaga) - which is an academic institution. I spoke with big John about this when he was Hoya coach and he was a gas ! Georgetown usually keeps their guys for a few years as does Maryland who won an NCAA title w/out 1 McDonald's All-American. Maybe these kids will stay a little longer with a real CAP - 2 MIL max. They can play in Istanbul w/women? with veils over mustached mugs !
By: 42marisol1. on 19 Oct 11, 08:09:05
For many years, I have thought the money these guys make is way beyond insane. I truly have always preferred NCAA ball but that is half of what it used to be. All the good players are one and done and the only school? that consistently has a group of upper classroom is Duke and if they have a super point guard he's 1 and done. What did Irving do last year ? Nada -& no. 1 pick. Good news is that PG Tyler Thornton now a soph, who attended Gonzaga High DC, my alma mater (1967) may play some.
By: 42marisol1. on 19 Oct 11, 07:59:53
- However, I wouldn't pay a nickel to attend a game these days. Why ? I can view from the comfort of my own home and instead of fighting traffic and the crowd. Do I want to pay $12 plus for? a hot dog a soda and wait in line for this garbage that you have to smother in mustard so you can't taste how sorry it is ? Hell no, I'll just grill 1/2 pound of mahi mahi with good vegetables for about $5. We need a CAP - cap these dolts (players) so nobody can make more than $2 million !
By: 42marisol1. on 19 Oct 11, 07:34:08
- I am with you all the way. These peckerheads (players) are so far overpaid that it makes me sick. Cancel the whole fucking season and maybe these high school grads (most don't even have? a degree) find out what the real world is like. No wake up calls - just fuck 'em ! We are the ones who pay their fucking salaries in the end. Personally I haven't paid to see an NBA game since the 1970's as I am friends w/ a DC sports writer who gets me his tickets when he doesn't go !

NBA lockout solution 1: Have someone sit down with players and owners and tell them that they are all being a bunch of spoiled brats and money grubbing assholes. Who cares if some shitty player makes 3 mil rather than 5 mil. He makes more than? the president of the U.S for doing considerably less work. Solution 2: Just say fuck the NBA season and let almost every NBA player's possessions get repossessed and see how quick they are to make a deal. Either way they all need wake up calls...
