I'm hoping to see an interview video about "hair" in Japan. There are so? many trendy hair styles and it seems to be part of the culture for the younger people from teens to 20s. Thanks for the video! From what I've seen, I think school's club activities in Japan must be really really nice. Sometimes it's in the clubs/extra-activities that we learn the most important things, so I think it's really important for? them to be so developed! :)

In my country I'm always on the look out of pick pockets, however, after being in the U.S for a few years in an area with moderate to low rate of crime, I have found myself to be lax. LOL! This reminds me of the guy at work that got called in around 9pm to fix a software problem. He thought it was going to be easy. It turned into an all-nighter, and when he left about 7am, he discovered that not only had he left his keys in the ignition, he'd left the engine running too, and his car was still there! Obviously, this wasn't in a major American city....?

Well the flaw basically states that you're assuming that one thing CAUSES something else simply because the two things? are correlated (or you believe them to be incorrectly, as in this case). OP assumes that forced coercions exist and are widely practised ('The issue of coerced (read, forced) confession in Japan is very serious'), and he implies, in no uncertain terms, that this is CAUSING the high rate of court convictions ('99.7% of all cases brought to court in Japan result in conviction').

I wonder if it would be possible to convert these amado into fly screens. Do they close without gaps? They look like they have a frame which can be filled with fly screen instead of wood. That? is, of course, if they aren't used for anything else. We were also wondering: those gas canisters below the kitchen window, are those for the stove? Learn something today : Why I? don't get answers from colleagues working in Japan ! There answers were "no". I don't mind anymore (in fact I do but I can get along with it) The only problem is that I cannot guess I my question just takes time to get answered or as a negative answer. i think japan should stay japanese, don't get me wrong about that, but i also think? they should try to get a little more english friendly especially for the tourism industry. to be sure i'm understood, i am not american, i'm french canadian and english is not my first language. but i feel a lot of people worldwide have english as a second language. you can't expect people who wanna visit your country to learn the language first. i know a little japanese and i am still stressed about coming.

When I lived in Japan, I got caught out.I ;looked for English friendly Dr and Dentist. Their web page was in? English and said they speak English. But when I got there they didn't. At least I could speak a little Japanese to get buy. My biggest concern was seeing an OB/GYN as I didn't understand medical terms if somwthing was wrong in my pregnancy.

I get your point :) But this doesn't supprise me :) Because I saw your English-friendly videos, so I kinda get it. As European, English is really "second language" in all European countries, even if they're not in European Union. Most sites have English version of site,? all the support is english friendly... But on other side you can see some nationalist who think English is ruining their culture and their language. Maybe Japanese think the same :)

As far as I know when Americans defeated the Japanese and 'took over' in the years after the war, they prohibited Japan from having an army and stationed their own soldiers there... They also made? a law not more than 1% of Japanese GDP should be used for the self defense force, but they themselves used more than that with their soldiers patroling around Japan (as far as I know). Some people may have genuine interest in learning about the Japanese's views since it's not often that we hear them talk about it, while some are just rude/ignorant. It's an identity thing. In Japan they are scared of showing their full face or telling their full name? or such things. Also masks are popular for other reasons in Japan, it could be a fashion thing or just because you are shy and they feel more comfortable to hide behind a mask. Especially teenagers. Oh and by the way they loose all rights on privacy if recorded commiting a crime...as I understand japan allows you to use video of crime without criminals consent...as example.or to prosecute...same with the states...they must blur people not involbed in crime but criminal.has.no right in the? matter....when you break the law...you can not claim invasion of privacy if doing it in public....heck news stations should have taught you that by now lol

I know that TheJapanChannel does his filming in Japan, but I was referring to U.S. law. Since? putting videos on YT means they are seen in the U.S., as well as in Japan, that would be enough for YT & those drivers to say that the drivers permission is required. I'm sorry, I'm not a legal expert. I'm calling on knowledge, that I learned, as someone who was very active in street photograph for years. I got my legal info from publication for photographers.

Oh man can't believe some people have nothing better to do with their lives than complain about a video that is performing a valuable public service ! One thing I noticed about the Japanese psyche is that they do have a bit of an inferiority complex and so are always anxious to prove how good Japan is? at various things. This leads to self censorship and the avoidance of tackling serious issues. Personally I would've gone to youtube and asked those complainers to prove they were in the video.

What YT did, is a reminder that, the law does not require you get the permission, of a person WHO IS IN PUBLIC, to? photograph them (as many YTers know), but getting their permission to publish those images, IS required by law. Too many think not needing permission to film means not needing permission to post on line. Courts have ruled it's not reasonable to expect privacy when in public, but statute law says to publish photos w/ an identifiable person in them, you DO need their permission.

Seriously had this problem when we were in Japan! The? shower wasn't draining in our apartment, so we had to clear it. We bought some random 'draino' product but figured out (eventually) that there was actually a trap for hair etc to collect. Was not a pretty sight!

I think you pointed out exactly why the L and R thing can still be funny. In fact, a better definition of childish in these circumstances would be applicable to? the creator of these mistakes. An adult would check with a dictionary before committing to a final product like this. The product would have had to go through several stages before the final design was produced. There is a Japanese comedian that works in Tokyo doing stand up, who's routine is all about the mistakes and misconceptions Japanese have of Enlish language and American pop culture. His target audience is Japanese? (his routine is all in Japanese), and its kind of a laugh together at our common mistake sort of thing. He does really well.

Perhaps I should have wrote something like "hilarious depending on the joke/situation/people/etc." Just because I? didn't write a disclaimer to make my statement completely politically correct, doesn't mean I intended to offend anyone.. Of course, if someone were to act like that towards ESL learners, they would be an asshole making a bad joke based on prejudice and ignorance. Actually in my last jobs the only holidays that I got off each year were Thanksgiving and Christmas (Dec 25th). All the other holidays I was required to work but it was paid an extra day of work (8 hours extra of pay). In America though its very rare to get holidays off from? work.

We do have a "Golden Week", but we call it "The Holiday Season". And just because there are holidays doesn't mean that workers get any time off, especially, here in the USA. Christmas & New Years Day are the only holidays, in the Holiday Season, that most American workers can expect to get off. To get more, we need to do what French just did, that is,? elect socialists.

Lol, I've spent plenty of time in Japan but haven't secured residence there quite yet... gotta finish college? in the States first, you know how they like us gaikokujin to prove that we're not putaro and all. But I can say with total conviction that while I've never found a place where I felt I really belonged, Japan is the closest I've ever gotten and I love it there.
